Norrie Paramor

British producer, composer, arranger & orchestral conductor who shaped the UK music scene in the 1950's-60's. Famously produced Cliff Richard as well as The Shadows.

Born May 15, 1914 in London, UK. Died September 9, 1979 in Barnet, North London, UK.

Paramor used a long list of pseudonyms for his songs--more than 25.

Paramor was Recording Director & A&R Manager of EMI-Columbia Records. Paramor produced the first British rock-n-roll single, "Teach You to Rock," by Tony Crombie and his Rockets.

After leaving EMI in the late 1960s, Paramor continued to record occasional easy-listening string albums. He later conducted the BBC Midlands Orchestra.
