Árni Heimir Ingólfsson

Icelandic musicologist, pianist, choir conductor and music educator. He completed a BM-degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 1997, and a PhD in musicology from Harvard University in 2003. He founded [a=Kammerkórinn Carmina] in 2003; their CDs of music from Icelandic manuscripts won the Icelandic Music Awards in 2008 and 2011. He has frequently appeared in concert as pianist and harpsichordist. As a musicologist, he has written several books and articles on Icelandic music history, including Jón Leifs and the Musical Invention of Iceland (2019). He has been nominated for the Icelandic Literature Award (non-fiction) three times, in 2009, 2016, and 2024.
