Mike Campbell

American rock guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and producer. Born on 1 February 1950 in Panama City, Florida, USA, and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Has resided in Woodland Hills, California, since 1981, where he has a home studio. Spouse of [a=Marcie Campbell (2)], father of [a=Kelsey Campbell].

Heavily influenced by [a=Bob Dylan] and [a=The Byrds]. Best known for his work with [a=Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers], with whom he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

Formed first band, "Dead or Alive," in 1968. Met [a=Tom Petty] in Gainesville, Florida, in 1970. Joined Petty in [a=Mudcrutch], which relocated to Los Angeles in 1974. Then formed [a=Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers] in 1976.

Founded [a=The Dirty Knobs] in 2000 as a side project.

Campbell, along with [a=Neil Finn], temporarily joined [a=Fleetwood Mac] to replace lead guitarist [a=Lindsey Buckingham] on their world tour in 2018-19.
