Herbert Stothart

American songwriter, composer, arranger and conductor.

Born September 11, 1885 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.

Died February 1, 1949 (aged 63) in Los Angeles, California, USA.

During the 1920s Stothart wrote for New York Broadway productions, as sound became added to movies he moved Hollywood. In 1940 he was awarded an Oscar for his soundtrack to [i]The Wizard of Oz[/i].
