Terry Skinner

American producer and songwriter affiliated with BMI (IPI #: 54099962), born August 24, 1943, in Hamilton, Alabama; died November 14, 2014, Tuscumbia, Alabama.

First came to fame while working as a disc jockey in Russellville, Alabama. He assembled a group of studio musicians and calling themselves, "[a=C Company] Featuring Terry Nelson" recorded a spoken-word tribute record to Lt. William Calley, who was court-martialed in 1970 for his role in the incident at My Lai, Viet Nam. As Terry Skinner, the artist went on to write songs for (among others) [a=Air Supply], [a=The Kendalls], and [a=Highway 101]. Along with [a=Ken Bell (2)] and [a=J.L. Wallace], as a songwriting trio, known for pop and country hits, including "Touch Me When We're Dancing," "Even the Nights Are Better" and "Mama's Never Seen Those Eyes."
