Club Nouveau
American synth-soul group popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s. [a=Jay King] formed the group in Sacramento, California, in 1986, following the breakup of [a=Timex Social Club]. The group was nominated for a Grammy for Best R&B Performance in 1987.
Early members Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy left after the debut album to become one of the most successful production and songwriting teams, known as [a=Foster & McElroy], in the late 1980's soul and R&B scenes.
