US audio engineer and producer (August 9, 1941, Marshall, Michigan - August 14, 2017, Northridge, California). Father of producer/engineer [a=Cal Harris Jr.]

He was active in Los Angeles, where he started his career at [l=Gold Star Studios]. He moved to [l=Motown] in the late 1960s and became head of [l319649], where he worked alongside producer/arranger [a=James Anthony Carmichael]. Also operated his own [l462537]. He was known and credited for his extensive knowledge of synthesizers.
