Ervin Rouse

American fiddler and songwriter who was just twenty-one when he wrote the widely-recorded "Orange Blossom Special", a bluegrass standard in 1938.

Born September 19, 1917 in Cove City, North Carolina, USA.

Died 8 July 1981 (aged 63) in South Florida, Florida, USA.

Rouse also wrote the hit song "Sweeter Than The Flowers" about his mother but had his royalties partly stripped by having to give co-credit to the singer of the song (Moon Mullican) and the owner of the label (Lois Mann).
