Sammy Rimington

English traditional jazz clarinetist, alto saxophonist, guitarist, born April 29, 1949 in London, England.

Rimington started his professional career in 1959 with [a=Barry Martyn], then played with [a=Ken Colyer] 1960-1965. From 1965 he worked in the USA, after returning to Europe, he played in Belgium with Martyn and led his own band in England (1969); later experimenting with jazz rock as leader of Armada in 1971. From mid-1970s played with [a=George Webb], [a=Chris Barber] and other, and in own groups.
