[b]Bogart[/b] was the founder of [l2152], together with Peter Guber.

He began in the industry in the 1960s as a singer, calling himself [a1384164] and was then an executive at [l139907] Records before teaming up with [l12390] to form [l12217]. [b]Bogart[/b]'s direction and style forged the creation of the 'Bubblegum' approach to pop production (working with [a326097] and [a326096] - aka [l203136]) before he formed [b]Casablanca Records[/b] in 1973, which became renowned for its disco productions with acts like [a6270]. The label's 'glam' style also had acts like [a255047] and [a153073] on its flipside. Kiss and Summer both produced albums after his death dedicated to his memory. His son [a933563] is an LA songwriter.

[b]Bogart[/b] formed [l27232] and signed [a283542] shortly before he died of lymphoma-related cancer. His wife teamed up with [a169899] in 1983 to found what is now The Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program at the Children's Hospital, Los Angeles. [b]Bogart[/b]'s production career is best summed up by by his often expressed opinion "Why head for the mountaintop when you're reaching for the sky?".
