Brian Godding was a versatile British musician known for his significant contributions to the pop, rock, and jazz genres. Originating from the jazz scene, Godding gained prominence in the 1960s as a member of the band Blossom Toes, where he and Jim Cregan formed one of the first twin-guitar partnerships. This collaboration marked a significant development in the rock music landscape of the time.

Following his time with Blossom Toes, Godding joined Centipede, a band led by his brother-in-law Keith Tippett, showcasing his ability to adapt to different musical styles. He later replaced Chris Spedding in Mike Westbrook's Solid Gold Cadillac, further demonstrating his musical versatility.

Godding's career continued to evolve as he played on two albums with the band Magma and collaborated with artists like Kevin Coyne. In 1984, he joined forces with Zoot Money in the Eric Burdon Band, contributing to their dynamic sound.

In addition to his collaborative efforts, Godding released several solo works. His career was marked by continuous activity and contributions to various musical projects until his death in 2023 due to cancer. His legacy in the music world is remembered for his exceptional guitar skills and his ability to seamlessly blend into different musical genres.
