American songwriter of the 1950s. Often collaborated with lyricist [a=Fred Ebb]. Together, they wrote their first book musical, "Morning Sun". Klein contributed songs to the cabaret revue "Isn't America Fun" (1959) and the Broadway revue "From A to Z" (1960).

Hits Klein and Ebb wrote together include "Close the Door", "Good and Lonesome" (also co-written by Larry Coleman), "Little Blue Man", "That Do Make It Nice" (also co-written by Eddy Arnold) "Summer Sweetheart", "I'll Wait" and "Ev'ry Second Of" (also co-written by Redd Evans). The songs all charted between 1955-58, with "That Do Make It Nice" by Eddy Arnold hitting #1 on the U.S country charts.

Klein retired from the music industry in the late 1950's for a more stable life.
