American bassist born in Canton, Mississippi. Known for his work with José Feliciano, Roy Orbison, Vince Gill and Patty Loveless. Also worked extensively with Steve Cropper for [l=TMI Records] in Memphis in the early 1970s, now based in Nashville. Often credited as Jimm Johnson.
