Waldemar Matuška

Czech vocalist and actor.

Born July 2, 1932 in Košice (Slovakia, former Czechoslovakia) as Vladimír Matuška, died May 30, 2009 in St. Petersburg Florida (USA). Husband of [a=Olga Matušková] (née [a=Olga Blechová]), father of [a=Waldemar Matuška (2)]. One of the most popular Czechoslovak mainstream pop stars of the 1960s and 1970s. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1986, three years before the collapse of the communist regime.
