Barry Socher

Barry Socher (died October 22, 2016, aged 68) was an American violinist, composer and educator.

He served in the first violin section of the [a835190] from 1981 until his retirement in 2016. Socher had also been concertmaster for the [a3216216], Pasadena Pops Orchestra, [a3089959] and the Ojai Festival and Oregon Bach Festival orchestras. He founded the [a426649], taught at Idyllwild School of Music and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, and served on the faculties of Pomona College and the [l118141].
