George Kerr

US-American singer, songwriter and producer born in 1936 in Ocilla, Georgia but generally connected to the New York / New Jersey area. Kerr's first group was [a633382] along with [a=Sidney Barnes]. After a stint in the military he sang lead for [a383327] prior to signing a songwriting deal with Motown / Jobete and learning production in Detroit from [a634114]. After his deal with Motown Kerr returned to New Jersey where he wrote or produced artists including [a346244], [a64836], [a113675], [a271214], [a284544], [a92798], [a386343], and especially for the roster of [a=Sylvia Robinson]'s [l52106]. He is the father of [a=Sandy Kerr] and [a369642], and brother of [a=Napoleon Kerr].
