British conductor and arranger who began his career in the early 1950's as a classical pianist. He arranged much of the recorded music for [a939600] in the late 1950's - early 1960's. Many of Hill-Bowen's records were made for [l60756]. Some of them were marketed anonymously under the name of the [b]Singing Strings[/b] and occasionally [a1000045], however, not all [b]Romantic Strings[/b] recordings can be attributed to Hill-Bowen. The high-point of his career as a light orchestral conductor was reached when he made numerous recordings with the [a1214994].
