Roberto Blades

Roberto Blades is a Panamanian singer, producer, producer and arranger, currently living in Florida. He started off in a salsa band called [a=Orquesta Inmensidad] in 1981. The band was signed by the tropical/salsa label [l=Fania Records], which then offered Blades a contract and he remained there for 10 years, writing several notable songs, including "Lagrimas."

In 1992 he became a writer/producer for [url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/Emilio+Estefan%2C+Jr.]Emilio Estefan Enterprises[/url], which led to two Grammy Awards, in 2000 and 2001. He has worked with [a=Gloria Estefan], [a=Jon Secada], [a=Alejandro Fernández] and [a=Thalía], to mention a few. In 1997 Blades signed a contract with [l=EMI Latin].
