Steve Perron

Texas singer and songwriter from San Antonio who sang for [a=The Children (4)] and co-wrote the song Francine, later made famous by [a=ZZ Top]

n 1968, The Children were facing internal conflicts. Perron contracted hepatitis from shooting heroin and was unable to work for more than half a year.

In 1971, the Children finally fell apart. As a result of his major drug abuse, Perron went into a mental hospital in hopes of kicking the habit. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful and died from what appeared to be an accidental overdose in 1973.
