Pete Drake

American steel-guitar player, record producer, and record-label owner based out of Nashville, Tennessee. For the 1964 release [m=1951312] on [l=Cumberland Records] Pete used Dean Dallas due to contractual restrictions. He also was incorporating his own unique sound as a "Talking Steel Guitar" using the sound of a talking box while playing steel guitar was new in the 1960s, and it made the sounds of vocalizing along with the strings of the steel guitar.

Owner and operator of [l288251], [l479126], and [l361398]. Inducted in the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame (1990) and the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame (1987). He worked with [a=Bob Dylan], [a=George Harrison], [a=Ringo Starr], [a=Tammy Wynette], [a=Joan Baez], [a=Lynn Anderson], [a=Elvis Presley] and many other country and rock stars.
