Bert Salmirs

American songwriter, pianist and music teacher.

Born February 28, 1930 in Bronx, New York, USA.

Died April 30, 2025 (aged 95) in Ithaca, New York, USA.

Best-known as co-writer of song "Joey", which was a hit for Betty Madigan in 1954 (#12, U.S.) and Fabian in 1959 (#29, U.S.) (co-written by Herb Wiener, James J. Kriegsmann & Stan Bernstein).

Salmirs was a public school music teacher and was known as the leader of the "Bert Sal Trio'. He was a piano performance graduate of the Juilliard School of Music.
