Christopher "Toph" Parker was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Prolific session drummer and percussionist and leader of [a=The Chris Parker Trio]. Father was jazz drummer. Started drumming age three, first paid gig at eleven. While in college, he made his recording debut with country rock group [a=Holy Moses (4)]. In the mid 1970s, he made his way into R&B/jazz circles in bands like [a338022] and [a30007]. Drummer for Saturday Night Live band 1986-1992.
