Oscar Avogadro

Italian lyricist, singer and composer (Torino, 9 Aug., 1951 - Milano, 30 Sept., 2010).

He began his career as a singer with [a=I Protagonisti] in 1969 and started writing lyrics while still in the group: among the others, he wrote the Italian lyrics for their version of [a=Bob Dylan]'s[i] Wigwam[/i]. After the group disbanded, he became a full-time lyricist and finally turned into one of the most prolific Italian songwriters of the last 40 years.

He wrote lyrics for artists such as [a=Alberto Radius] (most notably:[i] Nel Ghetto[/i]), [a=Ornella Vanoni], [a=Loredana Bertè], [a=Fiorella Mannoia], [a=Loretta Goggi], [a=Sandro Giacobbe], [a=Miguel Bosé], [a=Oscar Prudente] and many others. One of his latest songs was[i] Il Mio Amore Unico[/i], recorded by [a=Dolcenera] for the 2009 Sanremo Festival.
