Lasse Westman

Lasse Westman (also frequently credited as Lasse Westmann) was a Swedish singer, guitarist, arranger, engineer, and producer, born 13 February 1948 in Enskede, Stockholm, died 30 January 2004 in Täby, Stockholm.

Westman began his musical career at the age of 15 with the pop group Bobas and the Deamonds from the Stockholm suburb of Kärrtorp. In 1971, he was the lead singer of Michael Salt & Peppar during the group's tour of Mexico.

Together with [a=Annika Rydell], he competed in the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1982 with the song "Här Har Du Din Morgondag", finishing in a shared sixth place. He also sang backing vocals in the 1984 edition of Melodifestivalen.

During the 1980s, he began performing with [a=Vikingarna] and became a permanent member in 1990, remaining with the band until his death in 2004. He was regarded as one of the band's key members. In 1991, he released a solo album backed by Vikingarna.

He died from complications of lymphoma. He was the brother of [a=Mats Westman].
