Μαίρη Λίντα

Mary Linda was a Greek folk and rebetiko singer. She was born on 9 November 1936 in Pyrgos, Elis, Greece - Died on 22 July 2026 in Athens, Greece.

She was discovered at an early age by [a1881382] (Orestis Laskos) and began her career singing in variety shows and cabarets. She met [a1022127] (Manolis Chiotis) when she was aged 12 and together they formed one of the most popular music duos of the 1960s, also appearing in several films. The couple were married from 1959 until their divorce in 1967.

She made her recording debut in 1953 with the song "Πικρό Ποτήρι" by [a1720602]. In 1961, she won first prize at the Thessaloniki Song Festival with the song "Aπαγωγή". In addition to Chiotis, she collaborated with great composers like [a164808] and [a505454].
