Eddie Pola

American actor, radio/television producer and songwriter.

Born June 23, 1907 in New York, New York, USA.

Died November 3, 1995 in Jackson County, Oregon, USA.

Pola is best known as co-writing the Christmas standard, "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year", first recorded by [a=Andy Williams] in 1963 (co-written by [a=George Wyle]). The song has charted 19 times alone in the U.S. & the U.K.--15 of those from Williams.

Pola charted overall forty times in the U.S. and U.K. combined: " I Said My Pajamas (And Put on My Pray'rs)" by Tony Martin & Fran Warren hit #3 in 1950 (co-written by Wylie) and "Quicksilver" by Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters hit #6 that same year (co-written by [a=Irving Taylor] and Wyle).
