John Charles Alder

British drummer, songwriter and singer, better known as [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/429354-Twink-4]Twink[/url]. Born as John Charles Edward Alder on 29th November 1944 in Colchester, Essex, UK, but later changed his name into Mohammad Abdullah after converting to Islam. Began his drumming career in local Colchester blues-mod R&B band [a=Dane Stephens] And The Deep Beats, which evolved into [a=The Fairies]. Moved to London, became a member of The Pretty Things, Tomorrow and The Pink Fairies. Was part of London's Ladbroke Grove underground and the larger Hawkwind family, and was part of 1972's short-lived Stars project with Syd Barrett.
