Mikael Wiehe

Swedish musician, singer, lyricist and composer, born April 10, 1946 in Hedvig Eleonora parish in Stockholm.

Wiehe's lyrics, inspired by Bob Dylan among others, can be divided into political and personal. The political ones are characterized by left-wing rhetoric. Wiehe was a leading figure for the Swedish left-wing music movement during the 1970s. He was a close friend and often played with [a501531]. Among other things, they had the rock group [a251979] together, one of the leading Swedish progg groups.

Prior to this better known career, in the mid 1960's he was originally a trad jazz saxophonist and clarinetist.
