Malie Donn

Malie Donn is one of the leading voices of Jamaica’s new generation of dancehall. Born Kimalie Hylton in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, and raised in Waterford, Portmore, he has built a distinctive sound blending melodic flows, trap-influenced production and authentic storytelling.

His breakout single “V6” became Jamaica’s most-streamed song on YouTube and Spotify in 2023, paving the way for The Grand Rising and Leak the Hard Drive, alongside collaborations with Govana, Byron Messia, Armanii and Jada Kingdom. His rise earned him Best New Dancehall Artist at the Caribbean Music Awards and Best New Entertainer at the International Reggae & World Music Awards in 2025.

Now, Malie Donn is preparing to take another major step with the release of his 21-track debut studio album, The Golden Child, arriving September 4, 2026 via VP Records. Led into release by “Holiday,” the project also features the title track “Golden Child” featuring Squash, with its official music video set to premiere September 3. The album marks a new chapter for Malie Donn as he continues expanding his sound, image and presence beyond Jamaica while establishing himself as one of dancehall’s most promising new-generation artists.
