Timmy Tdat
Timothy Owuor, widely known as Timmy Tdat, is a prominent Kenyan musician, songwriter, and radio presenter. Born and raised in Nairobi, his journey to fame was marked by significant personal hardships.
Growing up in a family of eight, he faced financial struggles after the passing of his father. He lived for a time in the Kasabuni slum in the Baba Dogo area of Nairobi.
Before finding success in the music industry, Timmy Tdat worked various menial jobs to survive, including collecting garbage and working as a matatu tout.
Interestingly, his path to music was not a straight line. As a young man raised in a staunch Catholic family, he once pursued a path toward the priesthood. He spent time as an altar boy and even attended a seminary before ultimately deciding that his true passion lay elsewhere.
His breakthrough in the music scene arrived around 2014 with the release of his hit single Welle Welle. This success launched his career and established him as a significant figure in the Kenyan entertainment industry.
Over the years, he has built a reputation for his unique style, which blends Afrobeat and dancehall influences. He is well known for his high-energy performances and for collaborating with a wide range of Kenyan artists, including figures like Khaligraph Jones and Naiboi.
Beyond his music career, he has expanded his professional life into other areas, including radio broadcasting and business ventures, cementing his place as a versatile entertainer in the Kenyan creative space.
