Amália Rodrigues

Amália Rodrigues was born in Lisboa, Portugal (23rd July 1920). She was the most important female Portuguese Fado singer ever, and also a famous actress. Among her most important collaborators were the composer [a=Alain Oulman], and many poets such as [a=Pedro Homem de Mello], [a=Ary Dos Santos], [a=Manuel Alegre] and [a=Alexandre O'Neill]. Her younger sister [a=Celeste Rodrigues] was also a Fado singer. She died in Lisboa, Portugal (6th October 1999).
