Martti Syrjä
Finnish musician and actor, born on May 17, 1959 in Ylöjärvi, Finland. Best known as the vocalist and main lyricist of [a381585], which he co-founded in 1976. He has also contributed to the cover art of the band's records.
As a lead vocalist, Martti Syrjä has a songwriting collaboration with his guitarist brother Pantse Syrjä. He is know for writing humorous and sometimes tragic lyrics. Syrjä was originally an occasional songwriter until the previous main lyricist, bassist Mikko Saarela, left the band in 1979. After that Syrjä took more prominent role in writing lyrics for the band, and by the band's eight studio album [m=301681] he became the main lyricist of the group.
He is the son of [a1171483], the brother of [a350363] and the cousin of [a495243].
