James Jamerson Jr.

James Jamerson Jr. (b. 1958, Detroit, Michigan, USA - d. March 23, 2016, Detroit, Michigan, USA) was an American soul bassist. He began his career in the late 1960's as a session musician. In the mid-1970's he formed the group [a=Chanson] with his long time musical cohort [a=David Williams (4)]. In the 1980's he resumed playing as a session bassist with various artists including [a=Originals], [a=Karen Pree] and [a=Stargard].

Son of [a=James Jamerson] and father of [a=Derrick Jamerson].
