Stogie T

South African rapper and poet, born in exile in Tanzania in 1981 and based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, Republic of South Africa, performing with lyrics in English.

Formerly known as [a=Tumi] and for heading the band [a=Tumi & The Volume], in 2016 he took on the alias Stogie T to explore other forms of musical expression, that he felt were constricted by his former guise as Tumi. Feeling confined to expressing socio-cultural understanding and conscious raps, Stogie T was chosen as an alias to explore other avenues that do not fall within the former category.
