Clouseau

In 1984 a group of friends from the Belgian village Sint-Genesius-Rode were asked by the mayor of their town to play a small concert. They named themselves Clouseau en Vrienden, playing cover songs. In 1987 they had the opportunity to open the Marktrock festival in Leuven. After their performance, they were signed with music publisher [a=Hans Kusters] to make their first single, titled [m=3462263], of which 427 copies were sold.

Clouseau quickly became one of the most famous bands in Flanders, singing mostly in Dutch. The band also recorded two albums in English, in 1991 and 1993. All band members left in 1991, with the exception of [a=Bob Savenberg] and the Wauters brothers. Bob also left in 1996, after which Koen and Kris continued with Clouseau on their own. On stage they are accompanied by freelance musicians. including Herman Cambré (drums), Vincent Pierins (bass), Frank Michiels (percussion), Eric Melaerts (guitar), Tom Van Stiphout (guitar), and Hans Francken (keyboards).
