Todd Edwards

DJ, producer, singer-songwriter, and label owner from Bloomfield, New Jersey, now based in Los Angeles, California.

Edwards’ music was a major influence on the UK Garage genre in the United Kingdom in the mid-1990s due to his intensive sampling and remixing technique that involves “cross-hatching brief snatches of vocals into a melodic-percussive honeycomb of blissful hiccups” as described by critic [a715566]. Used both on his solo albums and on his remixes for other artists, this complex vocal sampling technique in some cases renders the original track almost unrecognizable.

Edwards co-produced and performed vocals on the Daft Punk song “Face to Face” from the album [m=26647] and he worked again with them, co-writing, co-producing and contributing vocals to the song, “Fragments Of Time” from their 2013 album [m=556257], for which he won a Grammy.

Previously ran [l=Nu Trend Music] from 2008-2012 and [l=Impératrice] in 2017/2018. Currently runs [l=H.O.T. Records (4)].
